Pakistan : Haven for Failed Governments

For the past two decades, Pakistan is going through a famine where it is powerless to find an excellent government or fine system of governance. From Ghulam Ishaq Khan to Farooq Leghari, and then from Musharraf to Zardari, the same cassette is being played again and again. Either it is Presidential monarchy or military dictatorship. Surely, the mystification lies in our system of governance i.e. President-Prime Minister-Parliament.

If the above system of governance is a letdown, which it surely is, then it is high time that we should revolutionize this system. Until and unless this quandary is not solved, our adventurers, politicians and leaders, will carry on their adventurism to attain absolute power. As absolute power corrupts, therefore, presidential or military dictatorship is highly not suggested. Hence, our parliamentary leaders have to score through the post of Prime Minister i.e. the president would be in charge of the helm of affairs of the country. He would be answerable to the parliament - people of Pakistan – which is currently the task of the Prime Minister. Additionally, the alternative solution is to curb the power of the President so that he does not overpower the sentiments of the public.

Due to this catch-22, Pakistan has suffered immensely, monetarily and in a social context. Moreover, to bring solidity to our governance system, the creams of the crop have to close their ears to the American dictation because it's leading to turbulence and degeneration in our society. Shockingly, it is surely a phenomenon that Pakistan is still extant because our situation is worse than Iraq and Afghanistan presently. We have a high fiscal debt, we are getting no financial support from friends, we have a civil war, we don’t know when the person standing next to us will blow off and political discrimination has reached its maximum peak.

Sadly, the current government has been incapable to clear the chaos in the house. But that does not mean they don’t deserve to complete their term. The people of Pakistan have given them the say-so therefore they have to be serene to get the most wanted results. But, mid-term elections should definitely take place if the masses come to the roads because it is one of the best forms of bringing a revolution, though it surely is highly unasked for because it can cause a loss in human lives due to the suicidal tendencies of the bombers present in our realm. All eyes are on the month of March, because we are moving towards an unconventional sort of referendum which will decide the upshot of the serving government.

I, personally, am praying for a mid-term election because I believe that our highly salaried ministers and President should have solved the impasse of judiciary and the complaints of the lawyers' community in their first year of power. We have elected the wrong leaders once again and we can definitely not afford another mistake otherwise it would be fatal this time. A good plan today is better than perfect plans tomorrow i.e. respect time and time would respect you which will take you to glory!
